![]() ![]() Fable Fortune requires about four times as many ranked wins and still gives you even less. To put it simply, Shadowverse gives you about 1.5 packs per day for winning around 5 games. In comparison, Fable Fortune offers less than 1/3rd of a free pack per day for logging in, and has a daily silver cap equivalent to 1 pack that takes hours of ranked play to reach. In addition to having robust single player content that awards many free packs to new players, Shadowverse offers anywhere from 1.5 to 2 free packs per day by providing free gold and several quests that require on average about 3 ranked wins to complete. I mentioned Hearthstone extensively in my previous write-up, but this time I'd like to focus on Shadowverse, Hearthstone's scrappy Japanese competitor. Old Issue #2 - Fable Fortune provides less currency per day than any other card game (even Hearthstone), and it still takes an eternity to earn it. The issue of how little silver one receives per hour played of Fable Fortune leads to the next issue. For instance, I actually received more silver for losing a normal game than I did for winning a short one. Not only does this new system negate any "gains" provided by lengthy wins, it leads to some rather absurd situations. Now, you'll receive a decent increase for a long victory, but you are no longer guaranteed 50 silver per victory. Before, you would receive a minimum of 50 silver for one ranked win and a tiny bit more if the game went long. The silver awarded for winning longer games has also been "increased," but only in a very deceptive way. This is a welcome change that will greatly improve the ranked experience, especially for newer players. Recently, the silver received for losing a ranked game has been significantly increased to about 50% of the reward for winning. Old Issue #1 - Silver rewards for ranked play are now better and also worse, but still not sufficient. However, other issues with the game's economy have continued to be ignored or improperly addressed. The free starting packs for new players, pack rewards for hero leveling, co-op rewards, and ranked rewards are all very helpful for new players and comparable with what other big digital CCGs are offering right now. Let's begin by highlighting what the developers have done well. It's been about a month since my last assessment of Fable Fortune, and while there's been several improvements in that time, I'd like to discuss some of the lingering issues before this game is officially released into Early Access. ![]()
